Telesensory Releases enhanced Olympia:
Portable electronic video magnifier offers new yellow-on-blue viewing mode, ergonomic magnification control lever
Sunnyvale, CA Telesensory Corporation announced today the release of the enhanced Olympia portable video magnifier. Olympia is designed to assist people with low vision impairments such as macular degeneration, by magnifying text and photos. With this recent enhancement, Olympia now offers a yellow on blue viewing mode and an ergonomic magnification control lever. This demonstrates Telesensory’s commitment to further enhance products to meet customer needs based on user feedback.
"Olympia gives users the best of both worlds," said Telesensory CEO Ken Stokes. "Its wide screen view, breadth of features, and writing option offers the functionality of a desktop magnifier. At the same time, its convenient, compact design, and rechargeable battery lends itself to portable use."
The Olympia magnifies reading material, checks, letters, prescriptions, food labels and pictures up to 26 times - allowing people with low vision to do more for themselves. The magnification system features a tilted screen for comfortable viewing; glare reduction and adjustable brightness capabilities to meet the needs of specific vision conditions. The system also has a wide-screen viewing option for text to make reading easy and enjoyable.
The versatile system connects to a television for people who prefer a large screen, increasing the magnification range up to 76 times. A foldable writing stand provides 4.75 inches of clearance, allowing the user to set the system over the base and then write letters and checks or do other paperwork with ease. The carrying case, battery pack and optional car adapter provide additional portability.
With this recent enhancement, Telesensory extends Olympia’s ease-of-handling and performance with the following advancements:
Four Viewing Modes
Olympia now offers four viewing modes, following the introduction of the new yellow on blue viewing mode. Some users prefer this mode for more comfortable contrast. The viewing modes are: full color, negative mode (white letters on black background for high contrast), positive mode (black letters on white background for maximum clarity) and yellow letters on a blue background.
Ergonomic Magnification Control Lever
Olympia’s magnification control lever has been custom designed to make it easier for users to adjust magnification levels.
