News: Telesensory Releases New One-Piece Flat Panel Video Magnifier
Description: New Aladdin Apex Combines the Flexibility of an Adjustable 17" or 20" Flat Panel Monitor with Professional, Full-Color Features

Sunnyvale, CA Telesensory Corporation announced today the release of the Aladdin Apex video magnifier. As part of the Aladdin product line, the Apex combines easy-to-use professional features in a streamlined, one-piece, flat-panel system. Representing a new standard in low vision technology, Apex’s flat panel monitor is fully adjustable - allowing users to elevate, lower, extend, and retract the monitor. The monitor also tilts to reduce glare. Additionally, the flat panel monitor can fold down, protecting the screen during transportation or when not in use. The Aladdin Apex is designed to assist people with low vision impairments such as macular degeneration by magnifying text and photos.

Commenting on the release of the Aladdin Apex, Telesensory CEO Ken Stokes said, "Our customers will appreciate Apex’s large, flat panel display. It gives the user the flexibility to tilt the screen to reduce glare as well as re-position the screen to meet the user’s specific height and eye level preferences."

The Aladdin Apex is equipped with a 17" or 20" flat panel monitor, comparable to the viewable area of a 19" or 22" CRT monitor, respectively. The full-featured video magnifier is easy to use thanks to its intuitive, streamlined controls. This comprehensive functionality and ease of use makes the device well suited for a variety of users and settings. Aladdin Apex’s flexible design and full-color options are ideal for school, business, and home. For instance, students sharing the Apex at school can adjust the flat-panel monitor to accommodate their distinct needs. At home, users can adjust the monitor to its ideal height - whether they’re sitting in a chair while writing a letter; or standing while reading a cookbook.

The Aladdin Apex’s most notable features include:
  • Adjustable flat-panel display
  • Three primary viewing modes (full color, positive and negative text) and 24 color select combinations
  • Continuous Auto focus with manual override
  • Shadow Masking / Line Marker
  • 3X to 48X magnification (17" display); 3.5X to 56X magnification (20" display)

The Aladdin Apex 17" is available now for $2,995, the Aladdin Apex 20" is priced at $3,395. The device is available through Telesensory’s dealers, specialized eye care professionals and many low-vision agencies, or direct from Telesensory at info@telesensory.com or 800-804-8004.
