C-CAD was founded in 1982 by Jack Kishpaugh, a retired executive with quadriplegia. Recognized nationally for innovative applications of computer technology, Jack was able to move the center into the Infomart in 1991, thanks to the generosity of Trammel Crow. With support from national and area foundations, computer access training began in 1994 and an assistive technology evaluation center was established in 1998. C-CAD’s training program is approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Veterans Education Department, and the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS).
